A contemporary pisau pemutik from the island of Bali, Indonesia. This is an everyday multi-purpose work knife. It s a small personal knife carried by Balinese, usually tucked into the folds of the sarung. The pemutik is used for everyday tasks as well as being a personal weapon and used in ritual. This example is striking in appearance due to the jet black steel blade and the hilt (hulu) which is shaped like a primitive version of the rencong hulu found in northern Sumatra.
