Code AM9
This small stiletto was discovered by a workman who was remodelling a home originally built in the 1860's. The knife fell out when he demolished one of the walls. The full length is 12 inches and the blade is 8 inches. The hilt is cast brass with ivory bolsters. The quality is not especially good. Although this knife strongly resembles the style of an English Gentleman's Stiletto c. 1700's, it also has some features of a bayonet plug for a rifle. It remains a mystery.
