This is a fancy turquoise and wood inlaid handle Solingen Stainless knife from Santa Fe, NM. It has an upswept 5 1/8" skinning type blade and an overall length of 9 5/8". The hilt appears to be nickel silver. It has a light brown leather sheath with nylon thong. It has not been used or sharpened. The knife was purchased from the original owner, a knife collector who bought it in Santa Fe in 1989.
A similiar bowie knife, also with a Solingen blade, is shown below alongside a similar Bowie with fancy inlaid turquoise (Kingman mine), coral and pearl decoration, purchased from a collector. Note the difference in natural coloration of turquoise from the different mines.
