1550s design for a dagger and sheath by Wenzel Jamnitzer in brown and black ink, graphite, grey wash and gold hightlighting (the fire). The weapon is decorated with 'the defiance of Mucius Scaevola'*, grotesque figures and an interlace of arabesques, among the many intricate ornamental details.
