This dha is probably from northern Thailand or Laos, possibly Montagnard in origin. The overall length is 15 1/4 inches not including the sheath. The 5/34 inch hilt is hardwood, wrapped in woven rattan in a traditional manner, secured at the pommel with copper without decoration and with brass near the blade. The spring steel blade is 9 1/2 inches long, 1/8 inch thick at hilt taper to 1/16 inch at the tip, 1 in in width at the largest point. The upswept point is typical of hau drab or hau lem. The newer hardwood sheath fits perfectly, two pieces secured with braided rattan wrappings. The cord appears added later.
